The task was to design a four bar linkage that would be used to actuate a spring loaded plate that came into contact with a button, the spring loaded plate was made to mimick an airlock system. We wanted to optimize for the total duration the button was pressed over the course of a three minute run. We used numeous tools to assist us in our design process such as dynamic simulation and FEA.
